Modella trans conquista la copertina di Elle: «Diamo voce alle minoranze»

Bellissima, occhio magnetico, fisico statuario, Indya Moore è la prima persona trans ad essere immortalata sulla copertina femminile di Elle, il tempio femminile e punto di riferimento per le nuove tendenze. Indya è conosciuta soprattutto negli Usa per il ruolo che ha avuto in una serie sulla cultura queer di New York, negli anni Ottanta. Recentemente ha ottenuto anche un contratto con Calvin Klein, assieme a mannequin famose come Noah Centineo, Shawn Mendes et Billie Eilish.

Indya offre così il suo volto alla nuova campagna dello stilista americano intitolata «Io parlo la mia verità» assieme alla cantante Shawn Mendes, la rapper Chika Oranika e a Billie Eilish. «Introdurre il volto della mannequin trans è voler celebrare la vulnerabilità e fare da portavoce a chi non ha voce, senza porre limiti nè regole» ha detto su Twitter ringraziando di essere stata scelta e di avere avere voluto come testimonial una persona trans. «In questo modo tanti altri talenti trans possono guadagnare in visibilità». Indya all’età di 15 anni era mannequin per Dior e Gucci. Impegnata nel movimento Lgbt Indya ha creato una società di produzione per aiutare le persone che come lei «sono minoranze».
